"Radios have become a staple during my backcountry snowboarding outings for the simple reason, voices cannot carry over wind. Additionally, trees and snow deaden sound, making communication with your backcountry partners near impossible. This is a huge safety obstacle that my Midland’s overcome for me. I use Midland to communicate signs of snow instability, or potential hazards to my riding partners and simply to call down the next rider once all are in the clear at the bottom. This allows us to have a safe, fun day with beer cheers at the rigs! It’s a cheap addition for safety!"
