Our History
1959
THE CB RADIO
Midland is known as the first CB manufacturer in the United States, getting its start in 1959.
1970's
WEATHER RADIOS
Midland rolled out desktop NOAA weather radios, bringing the fastest, most accurate information straight from the National Weather Service. Midland was one of a handful of manufacturers partnering with the Consumer Electronics Association (now known as Consumer Technology Association) to develop the Public Alert standards that are still in use today.
Late 1990's
FRS and GMRS
In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Midland expanded its product line to include FRS and GMRS two-way radios to bring easy access to communication at work and play.
2015
MICROMOBILES®
In 2015, Midland launched its first MicroMobile. Midland's MicroMobiles bring powerful, easy-to-use in-vehicle GMRS communication to the trails, the farm, the job site, or wherever adventure takes you.
2017
BizTalk®
In 2017, Midland launched its BizTalk® business radios to serve operations like hotels, restaurants, warehouses, and more.
