Midland is hitting the road and the field in a big way this year. We're excited to announce our upcoming off-road and agriculture event schedule, led by Mike Rubio, Midland's new Event Manager.Ā

With Mike at the helm, we're expanding our presence at the events that matter most to our off-road and AG communities, bringing hands-on demos, expert insight, and real conversations straight to where our customers are.Ā

We can't wait to connect and we hope to see you out there!

Introducing Mike Rubio

Midland has brought on its new Event Manager, Mike Rubio.

Mike hails from Phoenix, Arizona and is an avid off-roader in his spare time. He's built out vehicles that include Jeep Gladiators, Rams, Jeep JLUs, Jeep JKUs, and more. His current vehicle is a 2020 Jeep Gladiator.Ā

ā€œOff-roading is about seeing places you’d never find on a map, meeting people who love the same kind of adventure, and slowly building your rig into something that’s truly yours. Every trail adds a story," he said.Ā

Mike has previously represented Midland at events as an ambassador.Ā

ā€œIt’s the opportunity to get out, meet people, and interact with our customers, and educate people on why GMRS is the best way to go. I love sharing with people why Midland is the best brand to go with for communications and our weather radios.ā€

His favorite memory comes from an event in which he was able to make an easy fix for a customer, saving him time and money.

ā€œWe had a customer at Overland Expo West that was having issues with the radio. It wasn’t receiving transmissions. We swapped out the antenna, we tried to talk from the booth to his vehicle which was only parked maybe a mile away. When I got in the vehicle and looked at it, the COAX wasn’t screwed in all the way. I went and tightened it up and now the radio works great.ā€

Off-Road and Overlanding Events Schedule

Freedom Jeep is in its first year and something Mike is incredibly excited for.

ā€œI’m most excited for the Freedom Jeep event. It’s over the Fourth of July in Sturgis, SD. It’s the 250th anniversary of Independence Day and the first Jeep event in Sturgis. It's going to be a blast."Ā
