MicroMobile Two Way Radio is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little radio! I have always had 36 mile walkies. I have wanted a mobile unit for quite a while. I picked a 5w and fell in love with it. I live in very rural Maine and we are surrounded by miles of woods. Lots of hills and valleys, trees and such. locally I can talk about 5 miles around the house even with the walkies. The furthest i have reaches was just under 20 miles line of sight from my truck mobile to home walkie. looking forward to getting the 15w and 40w and being able to really reach out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Midland Quality Midland does it again! A great mobile gmrs solution for a great price. Small enough to place anywhere in a vehicle and powerful enough to use in the woods, on the road or anywhere you would not need to cover great distances to stay in touch with your group or family. I use the MXT105 in my Jeep to talk back to the house or to talk to other gmrs stations when i am driving around town. The weather feature is great as my wife and i are weather spotters for our region, we have even used these radio's during a move across the state. This mobile radio offers clear loud audio that can be heard over road noise, great range from mobile to base and offers a mounting bracket, mobile antenna, power cord and microphone holder. An over all great value. This is why I love Midland products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I tested 2 base units in Mexico city and found a usable range of 4 km. Not bad, much better handhelds and better range than a CB. I imagine the 15 watt version is better for an extra $50. These should work well for our RV caravans, I intend to test them on the open highway next week.

What connector is used for the mic? If it's RJ25/45 or something similar could a splitter be used to have 2 access points? Also, what is the power connector used?

Asked by: skipper47
The six conductor mic jack is often called RJ12, but important thing for the splitter is it needs to be six conductors, 6p6c. The power connector is generic called “mini Tamiya”.

Can this radio be used on low to be used with walkie talkies and not have to pay for a license

Asked by: Nelson1060
Hello, no you would have to purchase a GMRS license to legally operate this radio no matter what channel you are transmitting on. In September of 2017 the FCC changed the law that any radio that transmits over 2 watts is classified as GMRS and requires a license. Any radio 2 watts or less is classified as FRS and does not require a license. The license is $70 and covers you and your extended family for 10 years. Simply apply on the FCC website and you usually have your licence within 48 hours.
