Portable/Mobile CB Radio is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described. Came with everything but AA batteries. 6 regular and 8 regular or rechargeable. Hand unit is easy to use and read. Fits my hand, male, and the wife’s. NOAA channels come in great with just the rubber ducky antenna. Unit does not feel like a compromise. Would like a more durable battery case. Would like to use 18650 Li-ion batteries with the unit as they hold so much power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Compact! I used my new 75-822 on my recent road trip and it worked awesome. I was estimating my range to be about a 1 mile radious from talking to people. The only issue I had with the radio was converting the display from showing the frequency to showing the channel number. This information is not in the manual and I had to find it on a forum. Hold the F button for 3 seconds and it will change.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Midland 75-822 cb I have used mine for a couple of years. I bought it pre owned and it is still working today. I use it in my Jeep and my UTV. Very easy to switch vehicles. I use a Midland 2442 magnet mount on my jeep . The antenna significantly increases the range. I use a firestik antenna on my side by side. Works well. Good clarity and a tough little radio!!!

will the AVP-H2 head set work with the 75-822 radio ?

Asked by: Tom O.
Hello Tom! No, unfortunately the AVPH2 is programmed for FRS/GMRS radios. You would need to get a CB headset. Midland does not currently manufacture a closed face helmet headset for CB radios.

On the 75-822 radio, what is the difference between the mobile adapter & the dc adapter?

Asked by: Photo
Hello, The 75-822 can function as a handheld unit, or it can be used in a vehicle as a mobile unit. Using the mobile adaptor you would need an external antenna that will boost your signal range while inside the vehicle. The mobile adapter is the DC adapter. The AC adaptor would be used to charge rechargeable batteries when using this unit as a hand held. You have (2) different battery compartments; one for rechargeable batteries that uses the AC wall charger and the other is for alkaline batteries. You will notice that the rechargeable compartment has a port for plugging in the charger along with a charging light on the front, and the alkaline battery compartment does not. If you have any more questions on this unit, please give us a call! MidlandUSA

Does this need an external antenna ?

Asked by: TxAnn
Hello, this answer is both a no and a yes. No, the radio can work as is without an external antenna using the antenna that is attached. However, if you are using this inside a vehicle you can boost your range by adding an external antenna!

Does this have an aux output jack to plug into car radio or PA ?

Asked by: Jb.Crow
The 75-822 does have an AUX out for that purpose. You would use the port labeled "spk"!

Do you sell just the car adapter for Midland 75-822. I would like one without the antenna connection to use on motorcycle. If I can get an extra adapter I could modify it.
