  • Do I need a license to operate this radio?

    Yes! The FCC requires a GMRS radio license as a way to regulate frequencies that are used by two-way radio devices. Before operating a GMRS radio, a consumer must have a valid license, but it's easy to apply, is valid for10 years, and covers your entire immediate family.

  • What is the "low power" function and how to I activate it?

    The lower function is what the CB is operating at a lower frequency. It can be activated by pushing the MSC button, and then you should see the H/L appear below it.

  • Does this radio have VOX? Will is work when using VOX on the Midland 22-540 headset?

    The radio is compatible with the Midland 22-640 headset, but the 75-822 does not have the VOX feature.
