What is Partial County Alerting?

Program a Midland WR400 Noaa weather alert radio

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Arrow up or down to SET LOCATION.
  3. Press ENTER. “SINGLE” appears on the screen.
  4. Press ENTER.
  5. “01 (your county name and state)” appear on the screen.
  6. Press right arrow. The S.A.M.E. code for your county is now displayed, with the first digit blinking.
  7. Use the up or down arrow to change the first digit. Press ENTER.
  8. “01 USER DEFINED” appears on the screen.
  9. Press MENU three (3) times to save and exit.
  10. You are finished. If you feel you made a mistake, repeat steps above until “01 USER DEFINED” appears on screen, then press right arrow to again display the numeric S.A.M.E. code. Adjust as needed. If you want to go back to entire-county alerting, place a 0 (zero) in the first position of the SAME code, and press MENU three (3) times to save.

  4. Press ENTER.
  5. “01 (your county name and state)” appear on the screen.
  6. Press right arrow. The S.A.M.E. code for your county is now displayed, with the first digit blinking.

  9. Press MENU two (2) times to save and exit.
  10. You are finished. If you feel you made a mistake, repeat steps above until “01 USER DEFINED” appears on screen, then press right arrow to again display the numeric S.A.M.E. code. Adjust as needed. If you want to go back to entire-county alerting, place a 0 (zero) in the first position of the SAME code, and press MENU two (2) times to save.
Note: If programmed for partial county alerting, your location will always display “User Defined,” not the actual name of your county.
