Can this unit run off a power bank or does it have an internal battery? Or must it always be connected to a DC auto power source?
The MXT275 does not have an internal battery. It can run off 12V batteries including power banks, backup batteries or vehicle batteries. The MXT275 is powered in your vehicle via the DC power outlet/cigarette lighter.

Do I need a license to operate these?
No! Under FCC regulations, FRS radios (transmitting power limited to 2 Watts and lower) do not need a license to operate, even if used in a business setting.

What sort of range can I get with this radio?
Range will always depend on conditions as radios operate from line of sight. With normal conditions, if you imagine an off-road scenario, this 15 Watt radio will have a range of about 5-8 miles. We recommend using an upgraded Midland GMRS antenna to maximize that range.
