Let's start things off in the Southern Region. It seems like the best place to begin, considering the weather down south generally allows off-roading all year-round. And at the very least, the weather at this time of year is going to be a lot more forgiving than what you'll find on trails in the Rocky Mountains or around New England. So without further ado, let’s get to it.
The 1.2 million-acre Ozark-St. Francis National Forests in northwestern Arkansas offers endless opportunities for adventure. It is home to more than 1,000-miles of trails dedicated to off-road vehicle use. Driving these old forest roads can range from easy to extremely difficult. Check your routes ahead of time, because in some places drivers will share the trail with hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. With such a massive area to explore, you’re bound to find some of the very best off-road trails in the south, no matter how many times you visit.

Blue Holler is a 1,200-acre off-road park that offers something for all skill levels and vehicle types. The terrain ranges from tight and narrow ATV trails to rugged hill climbs and challenging obstacles for 4x4 vehicles. The most popular attraction is a large sand cave which is wide enough for vehicles to drive through.
Battery Park, just miles from Myrtle Beach offers over 30-miles of tracks for ATV’s, motorcycles and Jeeps. You’ll find over 15-miles of two-track trails that every skill level can enjoy. The tracks consist of clay, sand, and dirt terrains to satiate all of your off-roading desires. The park also offers a fully-featured campsite where you can hook up your RV and truly make it a full vacation and off-roading escape, in one.
If you are looking for a trail filled with climbing, twists, and turns, Brushy Mountain Park is the place for you. Founded in 2002, the park offers over 100-miles of trails with nearly 50-miles open to ATVs and side-by-side vehicles. You can take the long 25.5-mile trail straight through or take one of the many return trails to head back to the parking lot. The trail system is divided into three sections, and has a variety of trails ranging from beginner to advanced difficulties found throughout each section.

Open to all vehicle types, this park is packed with 150 miles of trails, mud bogs, and rock crawling obstacles. In fact, there is an area specifically designed for “rock crawlers”. This area isn’t for newbies, the rock crawling obstacles will seriously challenge any 4x4 vehicles brave enough to take them on. The trail network also offers routes designated exclusively for equestrian, bike, and hiking use. The 1500-acre park even includes cabins, a campground, and an RV park. This is a perfect place to stay for a long weekend; you can thrash around on trails during the day and then relax in the campground at night.
This 4x4 off-road park is open for riding on the first and third Saturday of every month. The park has recently doubled in size and has expanded the area with new trails for off-roading enthusiasts! The park offers a variety of terrain including wide and sandy 4x4 trails, rugged hills for crawling, and deep mud pits to power through. There are plenty of shady RV sites to choose from, each with picnic tables, BBQ grills, and fire rings. Cabins are also available for rent. These off-road trails in the south themselves are known for being quite challenging, with several deep mud pits and water crossings scattered throughout the area. When you’re not on the trails, you can take a dip in the swimming pool, relax by the beach area, play outdoor games, and cruise on the lake with a canoe.
