What size mounting hole does this require?
The mounting hole is 2/3 inches.

Does this antenna need to have a ground plane?
All the current Midland anntenna offerings require a ground plane to perform as expected. In general, the minimum size for a ground plane is considered a 1/2 wavelength across or about 12" for GMRS frequencies. Steel or aluminum can serve as a ground plane and it does not need to be a continuous plane.

Can I use this antenna with a HAM or CB radio?
No, the Ghost antenna is a GMRS antenna and as such will only work with GMRS radios.
