KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 11, 2017) – Leading two-way communications manufacturer, Midland Radio, was recognized with the Global Media Award at the SEMA trade show for its new PPG100 Portable Power Station. The SEMA Global Media Awards Program recognizes companies that manufacture specialty products and accessories with mass appeal to consumers in countries outside the United States. The products are voted on by a prestigious group of international journalists who serve as judges.
Midland’s all-new PPG100 is an important addition to its growing line of reliable communication and power management products. The power station utilizes an advanced lithium ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 950Wh integrated into a compact and weather-resistant case. The PPG100 weighs only 25 pounds, and is dramatically lighter and more portable than lead batteries of comparable capacity.
“We are thrilled to receive this award and delighted with the response we’ve seen since announcing the launch of our Portable Power Station,” said Matt Latendresse, Midland director of marketing. “Whether you’re deep in the backcountry on a camping trip or keeping your electronics running at home during a power outage, the PPG100 is an innovative and reliable product that provides a much-needed solution to many real-life problems.”
“The idea of customization and personalization has been growing throughout the world,” said Linda Spencer, SEMA director of international and government relations. “Our goal is to have media experts from around the world determine which new products are likely to succeed in their home markets. The automotive specialty equipment market consists of enthusiasts who are passionate about the hobby, so it’s exciting to see how their love for cars, trucks and SUVs is influencing users across the world.”
This year’s program included 30 judges from 19 countries. Each judge carefully reviewed and evaluated nearly 3,000 product entries at the SEMA Show before selecting the products that they felt would resonate and appeal most to consumers in their home countries.
