Located in Voluntown, this forest has over 22,000 acres of forest. There is over 58 miles of off-road trails that are shared with hikers, snowmobilers, motorcyclists, and equestrians. The trails are filled with a variety of elevation changes, from light to moderate. If you are looking for a peaceful yet scenic trail, this is the place for you!

2. Cape Cod National Seashore, Massachusetts

For those looking for a summer vacation, there is no better place than the Cape! The Cape is filled with 40 miles of sandy beaches, salt marshes, ponds, and uplands. There are also historic buildings and landscapes along the way. The Cape allows off-roading vehicles right along the beach, giving you awesome ocean views. If you want to take a break from behind the wheel, you can enjoy swimming, hiking, canoeing, and much more!

Jericho Mountain State Park provides opportunities for miles of trail riding for ATV, UTV, trail bike, and snowmobile enthusiasts. Adventurers are treated to several scenic views along the way. There is so much more to do than just off-road; guests can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing and picnicking at Jericho Lake.

4. Pulaski State Park, Rhode Island

The 100-acre Pulaski Memorial Recreation Area is a great place to take a day trip to. The park offers a multitude of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. From first class trout fishing in the spring, to enjoying a picnic, a hike, or a cool swim in the 13-acre Peck Pond in the summer, to cross-country skiing on the 10 miles of trails in the winter.

Rocky Mountain Terrain Park is Maine’s premier off-road playground. The park caters to all outdoor enthusiasts. You can push your limits on the variety of trails, but trails aren’t the only attraction. There are mud pits, and rock piles for crawling around. In addition to off-roading, the park offers camping, biking, guided trails, and a shooting range.

6. Green Mountain National Forest, Vermont

Green Mountain National Forest is a four-season trail experience. The most popular time to visit is in the fall when the mountains and trees are ablaze with color. Summertime is popular for camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and kayaking. Wintertime brings out the skiers and snow boarders. The forest offers you the views of a variety of wildlife including beavers, moose, coyote, black bears, and deer.

At 12,000 acres, Beartown State Forest is the third largest state forest in Massachusetts. The state forest offers 16.4 miles of challenging trails that consist mostly of loose and chunky rock, mud puddles, tree roots, and steep uphill and downhill sections. The forest contains camping facilities, swimming and picnic areas right by Lake Benefict. Along the trails, you can find a variety of wildlife such as black bears, deer, and bobcats.

8. Bald Eagle State Forest, Pennsylvania

With nearly 200,000 acres, the Bald Eagle State Forest is a true jewel in the world of outdoor recreation. It is filled with high, sharp ridges and features miles of mountain streams. In addition to the views are miles and miles of vehicles for driving enthusiasts to jump on and explore. If you want to take a break from the trails and overlanding in Pennsylvania, head to the famous White Deer Creek and Pens Creek for some fly-fishing and kayaking.

Located on one of the most beautiful parts of Unadilla River, Tall Pines not only offers relaxation, but several outdoor activities for all outdoor enthusiasts. Tall Pines is a collection of over 70 miles of trails for all levels from beginners to advanced riders.

10. James Path, Pennsylvania

If you’re looking for a peaceful trail to ride, this is the place for you! James Path is a 6 mile lightly trod back trail that features great views of the lake. The trail is rated as moderate and does have some challenges for riders.

Hunter Mountain is one of the popular New York off-road trails that attracts a variety of people such as skiers, campers, hikers, and of course off-roaders. 12. Blue Hole Road, New Jersey

Blue Hole Road is a .5-mile back trail located near Winslow, New Jersey. The trail features a lake and is perfect for all skill levels to ride. The trail is primarily used for people on foot, but 4x4s can make the journey too. It is the perfect place to get away and ride.
