Donation to Shelter Oklahoma Schools Made with Weather Alert Radio Purchase

Jun 7, 2013  |    |  Midland, Weather Radios

Oklahoma City, OK – Retailers across Oklahoma are lining up to encourage people throughout the state to have weather alert radios to keep their families safe. A portion of proceeds from sales of Midland weather alert radios in Oklahoma between June 8-16 will help raise funds for the non-profit organization Shelter Oklahoma Schools (SOS). SOS is dedicated to raising money to build storm shelters in Oklahoma schools.

Retailers like Walmart, Homeland, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Reasor’s and Walgreens will be among participating stores. For each Midland WR120 weather alert radio sold, a portion of proceeds will go directly to SOS. In addition, selected Oklahoma City and Tulsa area stores will be hosting weather radio programming events so residents can program, troubleshoot, and tune-up any brand of weather radio.

“NOAA weather radios save lives and are consistently more reliable than cell phone apps in case of emergency,” said Bruce Jones, Meteorologist and Spokesperson for Midland Radio Corporation. “Midland weather radios will be on sale at a special price at selected retailers throughout Oklahoma. With recent weather-related tragedies, every family should have a NOAA weather radio to stay safe, especially during this week leading up to Father’s Day.”

Weather radio programming and tune-up events for all brands of weather alert radios will be held at the following retail locations:

Saturday, June 8: Wal-Mart Supercenter, 501 SW 19th Street, Moore.  9am-2pm
